If you have thyroid problems, or think you might, don't hesitate to get the help you need.
Here are the highlights:
- Hypothyroidism is commoly underdiagnosed, misujnderstood and mismanaged.
- The TSH test, which is typically the only test given in a conventional medical setting, is completely inadequate and
misses many people with hypothyroidism.
- The correct lab tests are rarely ordered.
- 90% of hypothroid patients have an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto's thyroiditis. This is not treated in conventional medicine. It will cause progressive destruction of the thyroid gland and can lead to destruction of other organs.
- Hormone replacement, whether with the synthetic or natural hormones, does not stop the progression of the autoimmune disease an typically only makes patients feel better for a short time. In many cases it can make the condition worse in the long run.
- Autoimmune thyroid conditions can typically be successfully managed but this requires a comprehensive approach including balancing the immune system and reducing inflammation in the whole body.
- Iodine supplementation can be useful in some patients but in others can make the autoimmune condition worse.
Dr. Kharrazian is an amazing researcher and teacher. Since studying with him I have been seen real changes in patients who I could not help before.
This book is written for the lay person and the practitioner. I think any intelligent patient can and should read it. It does go into some detail but it is very important for both the patient and the practitioner to understand the whole picture.
This information is supported by impeccable research. It's all in the medical literature, but is not yet in clinical practice. The book has over 600 references to medical studies supporting every piece of information in this book.
You will not find this information anywhere else.

"This book is a life saver if you have unresolved Thyroid issues. I have Hashimotos and was being under served by my medical doctor. The doctors advice - go on thyroid replacement and keep coming back for more. Since using the tools that are outlined in Dr. Kharrazian's book I do not take any medication, I feel better than I did 10 years ago. My energy levels are good, the brain fog has gone and my life is so much brighter. This book has concepts that are unheard of in the medical community and are easily followed. If you or a loved one has Hashimoto's or any thyroid disorder this is a must have book."

I have been studying with Dr. Kharazian and using his protocols extensively with patients. The first thing is they work. In this long awaited book, Dr. Kharazian goes into detail about why so many patients who are treated with conventional medication, which is typically Synthroid or the generic version, levothyroxine, still have symptoms even though their lab tests are normal. In fact conventional treatment itself may be worsening their condition. This is a book that is written for both the intelligent lay person and for the practitioner. In it he very clearly identifies the causes of hypothyroidism. If you suffer from this condition it is well worth your time and money to read this book. It will open your eyes to a whole new world of health care that goes well beyond the conventional prescription drug approach and beyond simplistic nutrition.
As Dr. Kharazian points out, 90% of hypothyroid patients suffer from an autoimmune disease and 50% of those have an autoimmune process affecting some other tissue such as joints, digestive system or brain. Most patients who are diagnosed with hypothyroidism in the traditional medical system are never told they have an autoimmune condition and are simply given thyroid hormone replacement. It is important to diagnose and treat the underlying autoimmune process to stop destruction of the thyroid gland and to prevent other serious complications.
Much of the book is an clear explanation of natural approaches to modifying autoimmune disease. There are chapters on blood sugar dysregulation, treating gut infections from parasites and bacteria, treating adrenal and pituitary imbalances, and detoxification. So this book has invaluable information that can apply to most people with a chronic disease or a state of chronic unwellness.
What makes Dr. Kharazian special is the incredible depth of his research combined real clinical experience. I have been to many of his seminars and have notebooks and a pile of CD's full of his lectures. This book brings the key elements together in way that is an easy to understaqnd and apply. He does refer to a number of proprietary formulas but not by name. I happen to know know these products because I use them, and I can tell you they work. If you read the book and are interested in the programs or products mentioned, I can help you.
Now we need him to write his book on neurotransmitters.
"Dr. Kharrazian's material is way beyond the stuff they teach in medical school."
