Natural Healing and Prevention of Lyme Borreliosis and It's Coinfections, by Stephen Harrod Buhner. Lyme and other tick borne illnesses are being seen more and more. This is highly controversial within conventional medicine and, in my opinion, the CDC and physicians who follow these authorities, are in a state of denial. One reason is that traditional lab tests miss many cases. Stephen Harrod Buhner is one of my heroes. I think he does a wonderful job of making quite complex issues understandable. He combines an understanding of science and medical research with an appreciation of traditional healing and the power of nature. This book begins with a thorough discussion of Lyme disease. It goes on to offer a number of specific protocols for treating Lyme and other tick borne illnesses using natural, non-prescription products. Many conventional doctors refuse to diagnose or treat this condition. Fortunately this book offers patients a rational alternative. If you or someone you know has Lyme or you suspect Lyme, I recommend you read this book. You may not agree with it but it will give you an excellent introduction to Lyme disease itself and alternative approaches. I always recommend antibiotics as a first line of treatment for new cases or suspected new cases, since I have seen how devastating chronic Lyme disease can be. But I have also seen that once it becomes chronic, antibiotics and much less likely to be effective. Raven Press, 2005 George Manlove, DC Drmanlove.com
