Whey Protein  WORKS

People immediately understand when you say "yo-yo dieting". You lose a little quickly, and it doesn’t stay off long term.

You know many of the reasons diets fail: constant hunger, high cost, complicated regimens, bad taste, and some are just marketing gimmicks.

There is another reason. When dieting, we often try to eliminate sources of fat and cholesterol, such as beef and pork, eggs and cheese. But these are important sources of protein. Getting in very good amounts of high quality protein is critical to avoiding hunger.

Whey Protein  lets you get in more of the highest quality protein, without fat and cholesterol. It’s extremely concentrated protein. That’s why Weight Loss with Whey Protein Works.

Clinical research indicates that diets higher in protein create greater satisfaction, less hunger, and weight loss success. Developed by a clinical dietitian, the protein in Whey Protein works to satisfy your hunger -- and greater satisfaction helps you lose weight. You don’t have to watch calories. Instead, UNJURY lessens hunger by providing a vital nutrient to your diet – protein! Weight Loss with Whey Protein Works!

It works out to be a little over $1 per serving. You can get the protein your body needs at a price you can afford!

WHEY PROTEIN IS TRUSTED HIGH QUALITY PROTEIN

Designed by a Clinical Dietitian,Whey Protein is Medical Quality Protein trusted and highly recommended by doctors, dietitians and nurses -- and their patients.

WHEY PROTEIN IS PROTEIN -- WITHOUT FAT AND CHOLESTEROL

In an effort to avoid fat and cholesterol, dieters often avoid foods such as meat and cheese. Unfortunately, these foods are good sources of protein. Reducing protein intake can have a negative effect on both weight loss and overall health. It appears that when we don’t get enough high-quality protein -- your satiety decreases and a sense of feeling hungry can increase. UNJURY helps your body get the quality protein it needs.

Weight loss is a complex subject.  I have seen patients drop large amounts of weight with seemingly little effort and others just struggle.  I have not found a magic answer but whey protein can be a big help in creating a simple dietary strategy.

Solid research suggests that by supporting satiety, reducing caloric intake, promoting fat burning, and boosting lean body mass, whey may benefit individuals striving to achieve or maintain a healthy weight. Whey may also support a healthy response to stress and help maintain healthy levels of the brain’s neurotransmitters.

Evidence suggests that consuming whey before meals may help limit subsequent hunger and food intake, and that ingesting whey before exercise may enhance the fat-burning effects of the workout. Since the effects of whey appear to last approximately two to three hours, some nutritional experts suggest staggering whey intake throughout the day. A healthy breakfast could include one or two scoops of whey in a bowl of oatmeal, while a mid-afternoon snack might be a whey-based shake. Recommendations for using whey protein as part of a training program can be found in the e-book, Muscle Building Nutrition, and other sources of sports nutrition and bodybuilding information.6

NOT ALL WHEY POWDERS ARE THE SAME

Whey can be a byproduct of cheese manufacture.  This whey has been subjected to heat, salt and enzymes which can degrade it's protein.  The high quality whey protein powder I carry is produced at low temperatures by a patented cross membrane osmotic process which leaves the immunoglobulins and key amino acids intact but separates out the casein.  It is over 99% casein free.  This means that most people who are dairy sensitive can enjoy whey protein.  If in doubt see me and I will test you.

In addition to it's benefits as an aid to weight loss high quality whey protein contains immunoglobulins which can boost your immune system and significant amounts of the essential amino acid cysteine, which is needed to make glutathione, the core of your body's antioxidant system and is also needed for detoxification particularly of heavy metals.

I keep Designs for Health Whey Cool in Natural and Vanilla Flavor, and Biotics Whey Protein, both undenatured, pure whey protein powders,  in stock at the office.  Along with a selection of their whey based protein bars.

A Delicious Shake

My favorite shake is to use one or two scoops of whey protein powder in about 8 ounces of water.  I add a handful of frozen berries -- protein_shake.jpgblueberries, strawberries or mixed berries -- organic if possible,  I like to add a quarter cup of regular coconut milk.  This gives the shake enough fat to make it a decent meal replacement.  I use organic canned coconut milk from Whole Foods.  Or you can add a good oil such as olive oil to get the fat.  Fat will suppress your appetite and help with cravings so you are less tempted to cheat on carbs.  You can sweeten with stevia or xylitol, both available at most health food stores, but I find the coconut and whey along with the berries has a natural sweetness.

You can supplement the shakes with Designs for Health Whey based protein bars available singly or by the case in a variety of flavors.
